TOEFL Materials and Templates
I had 4-5 weeks for preparation, but I prepared moderately for three weeks, and finally, I prepared with a bit of concentration from the last 14 days, that is, two weeks before the exam. So, the first main point is if you want to give your GRE, TOEFL, or IELTS, write a mock test check the score, and estimate accordingly how many days you require for preparation. The next step is to book a slot according to your estimated time but with a 4-5 days buffer period. If you think two weeks is enough for your preparation, book your slot with a time gap of 3 weeks. How many days would You require? I just answered your question. Write a mock test and assess yourself. You will be the best person to judge yourself. Don't listen to others because their preparation and skills are different from yours, so some people may require more time to prepare, and some don't even need time to prepare. So, the best option is to decide for yourself. And the final question which materials did I use? I followed gregmat, which was helpful. It's 5$ a month, so I think everyone can afford it. I followed some youtube channels like test prep, TOEFL resources. And there is a channel called TOEFL success where you can access practice tests along with solutions. So use that channel only for the listening section, don't solve reading in that youtube channel. They are effortless, and in the main exam, they are many complex questions compared to that channel's reading section practice questions. For reading and listening sections, follow the official ETS TOEFL book tests. Three books contain a total of 14 tests which are more than enough for your preparation. But don't solve the reading and listening sections from the book because their difficulty level is elementary, and the exam won't be that easy, but it's also not that tough, so you crack the exam, I know that. So, follow the CDs in which you will find 14 tests that would be better. And I prefer gregmat for speaking and writing templates; he is the best. But don't blindly follow anyone's template; take a look at them and come up with your templates or combination of various templates, which is preferred. I have attached my templates in my blog, which I have used for my exam. If you want to check out, the link is in the description. Finally, for the reading section, practice the ETS tests. For the listening section, you can follow youtube and ETS tests. For the speaking section, practice it daily by selecting the topics you can search on google and a timer for the speaking section. For the writing section, look at the template practice once or twice with the timer, and I think you will be good to go. The timer plays a crucial role in all the sections, so practicing with a timer is highly recommended.
So, If you like this blog share it with your friends, hope you like my strategies and materials. All the best for your exams. Stay safe and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
